This Is Our Design #2- “Sakizuki” with Les Chappell

Sean Colletti and Kate Kulzick are back again to talk more Hannibal season two in this latest installment of This is Our Design. This week, special guest Les Chappell from The A.V. Club joins the discussion, which spans everything from the gruesome opening of "Sakizuki" to the final image of Dr. Lecter smirking in an empty room. The discussion includes the idea of symmetrical and unbalanced friendships along with the performance aspects these characters use to get what they want. Only two episodes into the new season, Hannibal is making it difficult to watch some of its more gory scenes while inviting viewers into its intellectually rewarding story. Have a listen and feel free to join the discussion by leaving some comments.

The Televerse #95- Hannibal Season 1 with Ricky D

It was a big week for TV, giving us plenty to discuss on the podcast. After taking a few minutes to reflect on the notable TV-related deaths of the past week, we dive into our week in comedy, including the Hot in Cleveland live midseason premiere, a catch-up with Nathan For You, the Veep finale, the Wilfred premiere, and more. Then after a quick look at SYTYCD, we look at the dramas, with our preview of next week’s Ray Donovan pilot, another crazy True Blood, and the Under the Dome pilot. Next up is a lengthy spotlight on the eventful Mad Men finale, “In Care Of”, and we close by welcoming SoS’s own Ricky D back to the podcast to break down the Hannibal finale, “Savoureux”, as well as the season as a whole.

The Televerse #89- The Prisoner with Zack Handlen

The premieres and finales continue this week, giving us plenty of TV to discuss on the podcast. First we look at the comedies, then break down the genre offerings, then Kate looks at The Voice for our reality segment, and then we look at the prestige dramas before spotlighting the latest episode of Hannibal, “Sorbet”. Finally, we welcome Zack Handlen from The A.V. Club to the DVD Shelf to help us take a look at the influential, and delightfully crazy, 1967 cult series The Prisoner.

The Televerse #62- Pushing Daisies with Michael Ryan

This week sees the premiere of ABC’s Malibu Country, marking the official end of the fall network rollouts and our pilot reviews. Due to a number of reasons, we weren’t able to catch up with all the shows we usually follow, but there’s still plenty of TV talk to go around. We take a look at Tuesday’s Halloween-themed comedies (Ben and Kate, New Girl, The Mindy Project, Happy Endings, Don’t Trust the B---- in Apt. 23), the final installment ‘til December of this season of 30 for 30 (Ghosts of Ole Miss), as well as 30 Rock, Supernatural, the Thursday comedies (It’s Always Sunny…, The League, Childrens Hospital, NTSF:SD:SUV::), The Vampire Diaries, Fringe, Bob’s Burgers, Amazing Race, the Call the Midwife finale, The Good Wife, Homeland, and The Voice. Then we welcome Michael Ryan from Mousterpiece Cinema to the DVD Shelf to help us break down Bryan Fuller's delightful, if short-lived, genre mashup, Pushing Daisies.

The Televerse #40- Dead Like Me with Amrie Cunningham

After going through a slightly fuller week in TV than last time, including a slight disagreement about the Cougar Town finale, brief looks at Eagleheart, So You Think You Can Dance, Girls, and Veep, and a longer look at this week’s once again depressing Mad Men, Simon and Kate get out their calendars to look at the TV that’ll be heading our way this summer. Then it’s over to the DVD Shelf to discuss Bryan Fuller’s Dead Like Me with Amrie Cunningham of My Take On TV and the TV Times Three podcast.
