Hi Kate and Noel ! I just wanted to say thank you for the podcast. I’ve been listening to you for years — I (too) was a lost Totally Tubular listener looking for a new TV podcast, little did I know The Televerse would become such an integral part of my tv viewing experience! I live in Belgium, where the (French speaking) media coverage of American tv is still very much focused on “prestige” tv and sometimes very snobby — the CW, for example, is barely taked about (although mostly avaible on Netflix). I’m so glad I found you and got to hear your thoughts about Jane the Virgin, Lucifer, Superstore, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and the various DC shows, just to name a few of the shows I used to feel alone in enjoying — and sometimes felt a little bit guilty in doing do too, since at least some of them were (are) very much looked down on. I appreciate how you never seem to do that, even with tv you did not enjoy. It’s been years now, I’m certainly not ashamed of loving the tv I love anymore (on the contrary!) nor do I feel alone in my tv-loving ways (turns out the internet is full of like-minded people who knew), but it’s been a journey and you’ve been a part of it, so thank you.
It’s been so great hearing from you week after week and I am very grateful for all the work you put into the podcast. You’ve tuned me to some great tv (The Flight Attendant! ATLA! Better Things! Kim’s Convenience! I’m Sorry! DuckTales (woohoo)! & although I’ve never taken to American reality tv, I did binge all of GBBO and IT WAS SPLENDID), you’ve convinced me to give second chances to shows I had given up on (THANK YOU! Legends of Tomorow is so fun and so was AoS, eventually), and there are still many many shows I intend to get to one day (Gentefield and Queen Sugar are at the very top of the list). I’m not sure I’ll ever find another weekly tv podcast with so much overlap with what I like, and that’s okay! Thank you, really, for the podcast. Thank you for the laughs, and the recommendations, and the feels, and the much-needed in-debt discussions after eventful episodes, seasons and series finales, and the insights, and the musical interludes, and the guests — thank you for everything. Hearing you debrief tv has been a joy!
