Locke and Key is just fine, but I’ll definitely take it over the terrible ending of Hill House, which was a misbegotten idea considering the source material. Having that core of source material also gives me more trust in the writing than Stranger Things. I did skip over a lot of the magic-free teen scenes though, while I didn’t have a problem with Bode. The older siblings can’t prevent Bode from wandering around the house when they’re not there, and they have to be at school. I’d still like to see the original Fox pilot. I agree with the handwaving on Ellie’s memories.
