Spring finale season is here (immediately following up winter finale season), and that, along with the continuing debuts of midseason and summer TV series, gives us plenty to discuss this week on the podcast. First up, we look at the week in comedy, including the premiere of Downward Dog and the return of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Then it’s finale time, with two of ABC’s strongest comedies signing off for the year, Speechless and Fresh Off the Boat. We pause briefly with reality to chat RuPaul’s Drag Race, and then we dive in with genre and drama, including another relationship-fueled Samurai Jack, a much-buzzed-about American Gods, the penultimate episodes of Supergirl, The Flash, and Elementary, and another topical The Handmaid’s Tale. Lastly, after wrapping up our week in TV, Noel and Kate head over to the spotlight section and take a long, luxurious look at Sense8’s beautiful, emotional, and surprisingly suspenseful second season.

Per Michael Green’s twitter feed, he worked with Beth Grant on Everwood, before she was in Wonderfalls. So she’s actually a veteran of both.
I don’t find it that odd that the third sister “chooses” Shadow. She seems fairly isolated and may not normally get to interact with other people.
The “gods seeing into the future” bit is harder to shrug off than the history lesson last week, but one might still hedge and say that these “coming to America” segments are just stories written by Demore Barnes’ character.
